The ERGONOMIC ice ax is designed for extreme ice and drytooling. The sharp slope of the handle is ideal for long-term hanging and increases the efficiency of curls. The double handle offers more grip options and a stable change of hands. On artificial wall, rock or ice, the DRY tip optimizes use in an inverted prying position, and the weights make it easy to insert the tips into crevasses. Thanks to the minimalist hammer, the head is protected and enables hammering of staples. The head has a modular construction and can be modified according to the required parameters.

Comfortable handle, designed for highly technical climbing:

  • More grip options and a stable change of hands thanks to the double handle (higher and lower)
  • The lower handle has a sharp angle for more comfort when hanging and more efficiency in extremely demanding sections
  • The shape enables an open hand grip, reduces fatigue and optimizes rest
  • The higher handle is bent and made of two materials, offering excellent grip and insulation against the cold
  • Handle made with hydroform technology for optimal grip in the middle
Effective jamming, hooking and wedging in any terrain:
  • The perfect shape and balance of the ice ax provides an exceptional swing and makes hooking easier thanks to the curvature under the head
  • The DRY tip is tapered at the tip (3.3 mm) and universal in all terrains: rock, snow and ice
  • The thickness of 4 mm is more resistant to twisting
  • The serrated back stabilizes the ice ax when used for prying
  • MASSELOTTE weight will improve inertia and swing
  • The shape of the weight is optimized for placing spikes in cracks
Modular construction:
  • The fully modular design of the head allows you to adapt the technical elements of the ice ax compatible with Petzl accessories: ICE, PUR´ICE, PUR´DRY tips, shovel and hammer PANNE, MARTEAU
  • Comes with a MINI MARTEAU mini hammer to protect the head and allow staples to be hammered in
  • Without accessories, the ice ax is lighter for drytooling (only 550 g)
  • The GRIPREST ERGONOMIC support is shaped and adjustable in three positions to adapt to all types of hands, even in gloves.
  • The missing lower tip ensures safety if the ice ax slips out of the jam
