Together with the best-selling down jacket from Rab Microlight Alpine, the Downpour plus 2.0 waterproof jacket is probably the most effective price/performance combo in our offer. And as true ultralight enthusiasts, we do not hide our excitement that the boys and girls from Rab have prepared a lightweight version of this hardshell jacket for us this season - the Rab Downpour Light.

Rab used its own Proflex membrane in a 2.5 layer variant with 20D (longitudinal fiber density) weighing 72 g/m2. Thanks to this material, the jacket offers standard 20/20 water column/breathability parameters while maintaining a low weight (219 grams in size. M). Add to that great packability, a very solid price tag, and we have a candidate for waterproof jacket of the year.

With Rab Downpour Light you will find everything you are used to from years of proven Rab Downpour. A sufficiently large hood with an elastic cap. It also holds a climbing helmet just fine, but thanks to the smart fastening, it also works great for normal use without a helmet. The full-length central zip is of course YKK, as are the zips on the two hand pockets. Moreover, the pockets are really big and e.g. ski enthusiasts can easily stuff climbing belts into them. Other enthusiasts anything else they need to have on hand.

There are also other gadgets that you are used to with Raba. Extended sleeve cuffs and light non-slip treatment of the back hem. The back part is 74 cm long in size M. The cut of the jacket is rather looser (Fit Regular) and provides enough space for additional layers.

Waterproof jackets from Rab

Rab was founded in 1981 by Scottish climber Rab Carrington in Sheffield, UK. Carrington established the brand after returning from an expedition to Argentina's Patagonia, where he learned how to make sleeping bags. Rab was later acquired by Equip Outdoor Technologies.
