Down Wash Direct® is the first Nikwax product specially designed for cleaning and maintenance of natural and hydrophobic down. It provides a solution for the care of clothing and sleeping bags filled with natural and treated feathers. The agent guarantees excellent cleaning effects, maintains or increases the water repellency of all types of hydrophobic feathers and the outer surface of the fabric in clothing and sleeping bags filled with feathers, and improves the water repellency of natural feathers, which absorb 40x less water.

Instructions for using Down Wash Direct:
It is best to wash sleeping bags by hand, in the bathtub or in another container, and then wring them out in the washing machine.

For cleaning hard-to-remove stains, use undiluted Down Wash Direct® with a sponge or soft nylon brush. Remove all parts that are not suitable for washing. Shake well before use. Respect the symbols shown on the product label.

Application in the washing machine:
  • Remove all detergent powder residues from the detergent dispenser.
  • Put a maximum of 2 items of clothing in the washing machine.
  • Use 100 ml of the product (2 full lids). After use, rinse the cap.
  • Wash according to the instructions on the garment, preferably at a low temperature and low spinning speed.
  • Manual application (use gloves):
In a suitable container, add 100 ml of Down Wash Direct® to 12-15 liters of lukewarm water.
Immerse the product and rinse thoroughly to mix the mixture and completely wet the product.
Leave the product completely soaked for 5-10 minutes and then rinse thoroughly again.
Rinse thoroughly in clean water until the water is clear.
Drying:
Tumble dry, if allowed by manufacturer, on low heat until all fluff is gone.

If you are not drying in a dryer, it is a good idea to shake your clothes or sleeping bag thoroughly at regular intervals. Shake and repeatedly distribute the stuck clumps of feathers, this will facilitate the process of drying and restoring the original volume and dustiness.
