Petzl RIG descender
The RIG is a compact self-braking descender for rope access, designed for experienced users. It has an ergonomic handle that allows for comfortable descent control. The AUTO-LOCK system allows workers to easily position themselves at the worksite without having to manipulate the handle or tie a stopper knot. Once locked, the rope can be lifted up without manipulating the handle. A safety catch allows the rope to be installed even when the device is connected to the harness.

- The AUTO-LOCK system allows the worker to easily position themselves at the worksite without having to manipulate the handle or tie a stopper knot: as soon as the user releases the handle, the rope automatically locks in the device
- The automatic handle return system limits the risk of the device snagging
- The handle automatically returns to the storage position when the rope is removed from the device, reducing the risk of snagging when transporting the device on the harness
Versatility:
Once locked, the rope can be lifted up without manipulating the handle, e.g. to create a pulley for hauling, or for short rope ascents- With a pulley, it can be manipulated like a belay device, allowing rope to be fed and taken up for belaying during ascents using climbing techniques
- Stainless steel friction segment increases the durability of the rope friction zone
- Can be used for descents with heavy loads up to 200 kg
- Rope compatibility: diameter 10 to 11.5 mm
- Available in two colors: yellow and black
