Petzl REEVE rescue pulley for load transfer
The REEVE rolling pulley combines two pulleys integrated into an anchor plate. This simplifies the complex assembly of a rolling system on tensioned rope traverses. The compact design reduces the need for carabiners and lowers the overall height of the system. Two large-diameter pulleys, mounted on sealed ball bearings, provide excellent efficiency. Multiple attachment holes that can directly accept carabiners, ropes, and slings facilitate system installation.
Operation and efficiency are optimized:
- The three-stage opening system for the mobile side plates is easy to operate, even with gloves
- Red indicators provide quick visual confirmation if the side plates are not completely closed and locked
- Two large-diameter pulleys mounted on sealed ball bearings for excellent efficiency
- The system can be fully assembled before installation on the main traverse rope
Various configurations and connection options:
- The system can be doubled by placing two REEVE pulleys side-by-side (if rope spacing allows), or by connecting another pulley to the upper rope attachment hole for greater distance
- The pulley can be used in a hauling system
- The hole design allows ropes and slings to pass through for direct connection without carabiners
- 19 mm diameter holes allow the locking pins of most carabiners to pass through
- An odd number of attachment holes allows for centering and balancing the system
- Possibility to connect up to three people simultaneously
