EDELRID Pinch safety brake, violet-oasis
EDELRID Pinch belay device
Universal semi-automatic belay device for use in sport climbing, multi-pitch climbing and rope access techniques. It is the first device on the market that can be attached directly to the central loop of a climbing harness. Thanks to its low position close to the body, the PINCH does not need to be fixed when releasing the rope, and the braking rope can always be gripped with all fingers. The compact belay system also offers a larger span, allowing the belayer to release 20-30 cm more rope at once. The linear rope guidance through the front steel brake grooves reduces rope tangling during lowering and rappelling. In addition to the release lever, the speed can also be controlled by the pressure of the braking hand, which contributes to better control of the brake rope, especially when using thin and soft ropes. The antipanic function provides greater safety not only for beginners. A special feature is the integrated second braking stage, which allows controlled lowering by pulling the release lever further when belaying particularly light people or in systems with high rope friction. Users and experienced technicians can permanently deactivate the antipanic function using the supplied screw. Another advantage: the PINCH is the only device on the market that can be attached to the belay station in four different directions in 90° steps when used on multi-pitch routes. This means the release lever can always be moved to a position where it can be freely operated.

The position close to the body thanks to direct attachment to the harness increases control over the brake rope and improves usability.

Direct attachment to the harness eliminates the risk of cross-loading the belay carabiner
Deactivatable anti-panic function for increased safety by automatically blocking the device if the trigger lever is pulled too far back
Second braking stage, if the antipanic function is activated too often due to insufficient load and/or excessive rope friction

Front steel braking grooves allow linear rope movement and ensure less rope tangling, higher durability and prevent unsightly discoloration caused by rope friction on aluminum
