The SKYLOTEC Be-Up is a versatile belay device with a compact design, suitable for use with half, twin, and single ropes for mountaineering, multi-pitch sport climbing, and traditional routes. The intuitive and easy-to-use belay device features a modular braking system that optimizes braking with all types of ropes and allows for automatic locking, as well as independent belaying of two seconds. It is effective for lead belaying, with a specific shape that ensures smooth rope feeding without jamming, even during rapid feeding, such as when clipping protection. When belaying the leader on a multi-pitch route using twin ropes, the SKYLOTEC Be-Up allows one rope to be fed while the other remains locked.
Effective modular rope braking is ensured by V-shaped notches specially designed for better control during catches, rappelling, or lowering seconds. The belay device allows for independent lowering of one or two seconds, with automatic locking when a second falls. When lowering two seconds, one can be lowered even if the other is seated on the rope locked in the belay device. The SKYLOTEC Be-Up is equipped with an unlocking eyelet for releasing the rope or lowering a second seated on the rope; to unlock, simply lift the belay device with an HMS carabiner inserted into the eyelet. It allows for quick switching from lowering mode to lead belay mode. During rappelling, the ropes remain separated, do not tangle, and the V-shaped notches facilitate control of rappelling speed.
