The Shadow HMS is a large, yet lightweight HMS carabiner with a Kwicklock double-action lock, which is a cornerstone for traditional climbing. At the same time, handling it is somewhat faster and more intuitive than with the triple-action Locksafe version, which you will appreciate especially when opening and closing frequently.The Kwiklock is popular with climbers looking for the comfort of an automatic lock, but find the triple-action (Locksafe) movement unnecessarily complicated. It is great for attaching a belay device to the harness or for quickly building anchors.

The main advantage of the Kwiklock mechanism is speed and convenience. The lock automatically returns to the locked position after release, so you don't have to worry about forgetting to secure it.
