ORTOVOX Peak Dry backpack, 40 l, desert orange
ORTOVOX Peak Dry backpack
A technical, voluminous, and truly waterproof backpack to which you can attach a large amount of equipment, from trekking poles, through ropes, helmets, ice axes, to skis. When bad weather arrives, your belongings are safe thanks to the waterproof material. The possibility of reducing the weight to as little as 1130 g will be appreciated by everyone who cares about low weight and doesn't want to sacrifice important functional elements. The ERGONOMIC FULL CONTACT LIGHT BACK SYSTEM is very comfortable and is only found on ORTOVOX PEAK DRY and ASCENT models. Practical features include the possibility of detaching the top lid, hip belt, side access, a pocket for avalanche equipment, or an integrated helmet net.Comfortable back system for all-day wear
The back system is made of 3D molded memory foam, ergonomically curved S-SHAPE. The back is softer to better follow body movements and not press on any edges. The shoulder straps are sewn directly to the back system, so the weight of a full backpack is evenly distributed. The chest strap with a signal whistle stabilizes the shoulder straps, which you will especially appreciate when skiing downhill.
Even weight distribution
The padded wide hip belt and shoulder straps are responsible for weight distribution. The shoulder straps are padded on the inside to avoid pressure on your neck. The shoulder straps are ergonomically adapted to the human body. These straps can be tightened not only from the bottom but also from the top, allowing the backpack to better adapt to your body. The hip belt can be detached and smoothly transitions and hugs the body. You won't feel any seams, and you'll enjoy comfortable walking or climbing all day long.
Equipment attachment system
On the ORTOVOX PEAK 40 DRY backpack, you can attach all essential equipment for high-mountain hiking, mountaineering, and ski touring (skis (A-Skifix), rope, 2 ice axes, poles, helmet, carabiners). Every piece of equipment has its place, is securely attached, and putting it on and taking it off is quick and easy.
Convenient access to backpack contents
You can access the main compartment of the backpack through two entrances. The first option is through the collar under the detachable top lid of the backpack with the SIMPLY & FAST drawcord. You tighten the collar by pulling the cord. The entrance is released only when you also pull the plastic buckle, thereby releasing the system's lock. The second option is to unzip the side of the backpack, covered by a waterproof zipper, so the backpack's contents are always protected and dry. Thanks to the light interior, you can easily find everything you need.
Thoughtful pocket system
The backpack has several practical pockets. Each compartment and pocket has its purpose and allows you to keep things at hand whenever needed.
- The space inside the main compartment offers a separate pocket for securing avalanche equipment – shovel and probe.
- The main compartment has an elastic strap for securing a water bottle or hydration reservoir and a buckle for attaching it – plus the option to route the hose in the middle of the backpack between the shoulder straps.
- Front zippered pocket – for map, topo, and compass.
- External lid pocket, covered by a waterproof zipper, for storing active accessories – hat, gloves, scarf, etc.
- Inside the external lid pocket, there is also a plastic carabiner for keys.
- Internal lid pocket for storing small equipment – headlamp, knife, documents, cash, and valuables.
- The hip belt pocket is suitable for a mobile phone, camera, GPS.
The unique waterproof backpack ORTOVOX PEAK 40 DRY still achieves low weight and, thanks to the materials and technologies used, is also very durable and robust. Due to the high-frequency welding of the robust waterproof NYLON 360D material and the polyurethane coating on the inside, it is a waterproof backpack (over 50,000 mm) that will not let you down. The backpack is PFC-free, thus protecting the environment. Whether you place the backpack on rocks, lean it against a tree, or walk in the rain all day, your equipment and the backpack itself will remain undamaged and dry, without the need for a rain cover.
Backpack weight reduction down to 1130 g
The weight of the backpack with all functional elements is 1440 g, but you can reduce it to as little as 1130 g. This is achieved thanks to the detachable hip belt padding and the detachable backpack lid.
Practical functional elements also consider your safety
The backpack is designed for people with a medium back length of 42-50 cm – for a height of approximately 170-195 cm. However, the ORTOVOX PEAK DRY backpack is also available in a version for those of you with a back length between 36 and 44 cm. The length is measured from the 7th cervical vertebra to the upper part of the pelvis. The backpack is not only adjusted in back length but also in the shape of the shoulder straps and the fit of the hip belt. This ensures the backpack fits ideally and stays securely on your back.
