TSL UpDown Grip snowshoes, 438
TSL UpDown Grip snowshoes, 438, goyave
These technical snowshoes are designed for moderately difficult hikes. They have longitudinal rows of teeth for extra grip and are equipped with the up & down heel system, where during descent, the heel with the binding moves below the frame level. Descent is thus much more natural and comfortable. You can preset the binding itself to your size, and subsequent donning is really easy.
GRIP SERIES FRAME – frame equipped with interchangeable steel spikes and longitudinal rows of teeth.
MEMORY LOCK SYSTEM – eccentric binding allows presetting the circumference precisely for your footwear.
COMFORT STRAP – the strap around the ankle is designed to optimize pressure on the instep and increase comfort and support while walking. This is the most secure toe hold in the TSL snowshoe range.
Practical cover – snowshoes are delivered with a textile cover suitable for transport, storage, and protects your other equipment from being cut by the spikes or teeth of the snowshoes.
4D – Three levels of contact with snow ensure full functionality of the snowshoe regardless of the type of snow, and you will be confident in traverses. On hard snow and ice, only the sharp spikes are in contact, but when walking on wind-blown snow, the embossed crossbars start to engage, and the snowshoes do not slip. In soft snow, the entire surface of the snowshoe engages, including the curved edge, and it does not sink or slip. During descent, the 4D design is comfortable because the heel drops below the snowshoe frame level, and the foot is thus at a more comfortable angle.
Front claw – with every step, a front claw with three stainless steel spikes extends at the toe, thanks to which you will not sink and will not unnecessarily lose energy.
Hourglass shape – thanks to the ergonomic shape, the snowshoes fit together when walking side-by-side, so there is no need to walk wide, nor is there a risk of stepping on the other snowshoe.
Binding size adjustment with lock – is fast, secure, and does not allow the binding to shift during walking.
Binding width adjustment – allows the use of snowshoes with footwear of different widths or snowboard boots.
Tightening and loosening the ankle strap – can be done easily with one hand using a ratchet.
Ankle strap presetting – is possible thanks to the lock, and donning is quick and comfortable whether you use hiking or snowboard boots.
Shock absorber – located under the heel eliminates unpleasant sound upon impact.
Invest in snowshoes that will last you a really long time
You are not buying TSL snowshoes for 2 or 3 seasons, but for many demanding seasons. They are used in rental shops for 10 to 15 years! Their high durability is due to the quality of production, which takes place in the French Alps, about an hour's drive from Chamonix. Production is in-house, and among other things, they also produce components for the automotive industry or for AIRBUS aircraft manufacturers.
Honest materials and local sustainable production and service
The plastic granulate comes from the Netherlands and is also used for the production of ski boots. Another guarantee of long life is the availability of spare parts for 20 years. Every part of the snowshoe can be unscrewed and replaced. Nothing is pressed, as this would complicate servicing. TSL snowshoes are assembled again in our own production facility in Annecy, which is about 30 minutes from the press shop. Local employees work here in a friendly atmosphere, some for over 20 years.
GRIP SERIES frame type
The benefit of the GRIP SERIES frame is the varying depth of the spikes. The result is snowshoes with good grip on all types of snow. The frame is fitted with pure steel spikes, complemented by longitudinal rows of teeth.
UP & DOWN SYSTEM
For walking uphill, you can use the heel lift. In combination with the UP & DOWN SYSTEM, during downhill walking, the rear part of the snowshoe lifts above the heel of the boot, allowing you to step on your heels just like when walking downhill without snowshoes. The rear part of the snowshoe does not bend, and downhill walking becomes much more comfortable and safer.
