TECHNOLOGY

Advanced Focus System The combination of lens and reflector has created a unique technology that is unparalleled in the world.

This has created a reflector lens that focuses light into a sharp beam and vice versa. Focusing is done by simply sliding the flashlight head forward (focus) or backward (defocus). LEDLENSER flashlights are the only ones in the world that use the principle of light refraction. Ordinary flashlights only reflect light from the reflective surfaces inside the flashlight head.



Gold-plated contacts

Gold is a very special material. Today, you increasingly hear that gold is an excellent electrical conductor and is extremely durable. Its durability lies in its ability to resist corrosion and its high degree of chemical resistance. It is estimated that approximately 70% of flashlight failures can be attributed to corrosive damage caused by acid or gas from batteries. That's why LEDLENSER flashlights have gold-plated contacts. Thanks to this expensive measure, LEDLENSER flashlights last for decades.



The materials of the flashlights also differ in their electrical conductivity. Under high load, some conductors heat up, causing resistance in such a material to increase, voltage to decrease, and the flowing energy to be converted into heat, which is desirable for an electric heater, but the opposite is true for flashlights. The energy supplied from the batteries must not heat the contacts, but must be supplied to the LED. Many competing manufacturers use cheap contacts, which significantly affects the flashlight's performance and usage time. Thanks to gold-plated contacts, the electronics of LEDLENSER flashlights remain intact for decades.

Dual power - The Dual Power Source technology is a very practical feature for long journeys. It allows you to use either the original rechargeable battery or standard AA batteries as the power source. The flashlight automatically recognizes the connected source and adjusts its output based on its parameters.
