Fenix LR40R V2.0 rechargeable flashlight

The ultra-powerful rechargeable flashlight Fenix LR40R V2.0 delivers an extreme luminous flux of up to 15000 lumens (ANSI) and a beam distance of up to 900 meters. This performance is achieved using one premium Luminus SFT-70 LED and sixteen Lumileds HL2X LEDs, powered by an internal high-current Li-ion battery pack with a capacity of 54 Wh (5000 mAh / 10.8 V). The battery pack is recharged directly in the flashlight via a modern USB-C connector. The flashlight is operated by a rotary switch, allowing selection between a wide floodlight (up to 12000 lm) and a long-throw spotlight (up to 3000 lm), or both simultaneously (15000 lm total). Additionally, a strobe and SOS mode are available for emergency situations.

The flashlight is equipped with five indicator LEDs that show the battery charge status. Furthermore, the flashlight can be used as an emergency power bank to charge other USB devices. Despite its immense power, the flashlight maintains surprisingly compact dimensions, with a length of only 17.5 centimeters and a weight of 843 grams including the battery pack. This searchlight is suitable for applications such as security of large areas, professional use, or search and rescue operations, as well as for all flashlight enthusiasts.

All flashlight parameters (luminous flux, battery runtime, waterproofness, beam distance, and impact resistance) are measured in accordance with the ANSI/NEMA FL 1-2009 standard.

Usage

The flashlight has a rotary switch with four positions: off/locked - spotlight on - floodlight on - combined beam on. If the rotary switch is in the locked position, turning it to the respective mode will turn the flashlight on – spotlight on the lowest setting, floodlight, and the combination of both in the last used setting. Short presses of the central button cycle through the power modes of the respective reflectors. The strobe is activated by holding the central button for at least 1.2 seconds; a further short press switches to SOS, and another press returns to the last selected constant lighting mode. If the rotary switch is not in the lock position, the flashlight can be turned off and on by holding the central button for approximately 0.5 seconds.

The control buttons can be locked by turning the rotary switch to the lock position to prevent accidental activation, for example, during transport in luggage.

The proximity sensor in the reflector automatically reduces the output to 50 lumens when the flashlight gets within approximately 6-8 centimeters of an object (this prevents damage to the object from strong light and glare from reflected light). This function can be turned on/off by holding the central button for at least 10 seconds with the flashlight unlocked.

Charging - open the rubber cover of the charging connector and plug the cable into the USB-C port on the flashlight. The indicator LEDs will blink from left to right, showing the charging status. Once all LEDs are lit, the flashlight is fully charged. During charging, only the floodlight can be turned on in the lowest 100-lumen mode. After charging is complete, seal the connector thoroughly with the rubber cover. In addition to standard USB adapters and power banks, fast charging adapters with QC2.0 and PD2.0 protocols can be used for charging and will be automatically detected. Charging time is around 4 hours, depending on the power of the source used.

Charging external USB devices (power bank function) - open the rubber cover of the USB connector and connect the device you want to charge to the flashlight's USB-A port using a suitable USB cable. To activate the power bank function, briefly press the central button. After charging begins, the indicator LEDs will start blinking from right to left and show the battery status. You can use all lighting modes while charging. After charging is complete, remember to properly seal the USB connector with the rubber cover.

Battery charge level indication - a short press of the central button will illuminate the indicator LEDs for 3 seconds, showing the battery charge status. Five lit LEDs indicate the battery is charged to over 80%, four lit LEDs indicate 60-80%, three lit LEDs indicate 40-60%, two lit LEDs indicate 20-40%, and one lit LED indicates the battery is charged to less than 20%.

Intelligent overheat protection - if the temperature exceeds 60 °C, the flashlight will automatically and gradually reduce its output in small steps. After cooling down, the output can be increased again.
