Fenix LD12R rechargeable flashlight

The Fenix LD12R pocket flashlight offers a luminous flux of up to 600 lumens and a beam distance of 186 meters in the main reflector. It is powered by a 14500 Li-ion battery with a capacity of 800 mAh, which is charged directly in the flashlight via a USB-C connector hidden under the screw-on head of the flashlight. Thanks to this, the charging connector is perfectly protected against water and dirt. Alternatively, a single disposable AA alkaline or NiMH battery can be used for power (with a limited max output of 150 lumens).

The main reflector is complemented by a secondary side light with an output of up to 100 lumens and a wide beam for short-range illumination (e.g., for reading, working, etc.). The flashlight is also equipped with a sturdy clip with an integrated magnet, so it can be easily attached to a pocket or belt, or attached to a ferrous surface, keeping your hands free while illuminating. In economy mode with an output of 1 lumen, it offers a very long runtime of up to 110 hours on a single charge.

The Fenix LD12R is a versatile handheld flashlight suitable for everyday carry, home use, cabin trips, or hiking. Thanks to its magnetic clip and side light, it also excels as a work light.

All flashlight parameters (luminous flux, battery runtime, waterproofness, beam distance, and impact resistance) are measured in accordance with the ANSI/NEMA FL 1-2009 standard.

Using the Fenix LD12R LED Flashlight

Before first use, remove the insulation tab from the battery.

To turn the flashlight on or off, fully press the tail switch. To switch between the main and side reflector when the light is on, loosen the flashlight head until it turns off (about a quarter turn), then tighten it again. This will switch between the main and side reflector. You can change output modes when the flashlight is on by pressing the tail switch.

The flashlight has memory for the main reflector's output modes. If you turn it off with the switch and turn it back on after more than 1 second, it will turn on in the last set mode.

Charging - loosen the flashlight head by 3-4 turns to expose the charging port, and connect the USB-C charging cable to the flashlight's charging port. Tighten the head again after charging is complete. The typical charging time is approximately 2 hours for a fully discharged flashlight. The flashlight cannot be used while charging. During charging, the indicator next to the charging connector glows red, and turns green when fully charged. If you are using a disposable alkaline or NiMH battery, do not attempt to charge it in the flashlight!

Battery charge level indication - next to the charging connector, there is an indicator LED showing the battery charge level (you need to unscrew the flashlight head by 3-4 turns). When the button is pressed, the indicator lights up for 3 seconds. If the indicator LED is green, the battery is charged to over 85%. Flashing green means 50-85% capacity. If it is red, it is charged to 25-50%. Flashing red means less than 25% battery capacity remains. This function is only active when using 14500 Li-ion batteries.

Intelligent overheat protection - during prolonged use of the flashlight on the highest output mode, a significant amount of heat will build up. In such cases, the flashlight will automatically reduce the output to lower the temperature.

Low battery warning - if the battery voltage drops below a set level, the flashlight will reduce the brightness to a lower level until it reaches the lowest mode. Once the lowest output is reached, it will flash three times every 5 minutes to remind you to recharge or replace the battery. This function is only active when using a 14500 Li-ion battery.

Warning

• Do not disassemble sealed parts yourself, as this will void the warranty.
• Remove the alkaline battery from the flashlight if you will not be using it for a long time or if the battery is already discharged. This will prevent the risk of leakage and subsequent damage to the flashlight.
• If the protective rubber rings appear damaged after prolonged use, replace them. The rings should also be lubricated to prevent rubber erosion. By following these rules, the flashlight will be properly protected against water.
• If the flashlight is blinking, not switching to higher output modes, or not turning on, it may be due to one of the following reasons:
  
  • The battery is discharged - charge or replace it.
  • The contacts inside the flashlight are dirty - clean them with a cotton swab dipped in alcohol.
  • The head or tail cap of the flashlight is loose - tighten them.
