Fenix LD02 High CRI + UV flashlight
The second generation of the Fenix LD02 flashlight is extremely small but powerful - it offers a luminous flux of up to 70 lumens (ANSI). It is equipped with a powerful Cree XQ-E LED with a warmer light tint and a CRI (Color Rendering Index) of 90, thanks to which it perfectly renders colors. Additionally, it is equipped with a 365 nm UV LED. Ultraviolet light (UV for short from the English ultraviolet) allows for quick verification of the authenticity of documents, banknotes, payment cards, but also serves for checking cleanliness or material quality, or for forensic analysis at a crime scene. The flashlight is not much larger than the micro-battery (AAA battery) it is powered by. The head and tail cap of the flashlight are made of stainless steel.
The LD02 has three different brightness levels and one UV mode, allowing users to choose the appropriate compromise between illumination intensity and operating time. The Fenix LD02 uses commonly available micro-batteries and thanks to its almost negligible size and weight, it is ideal for everyday use (Everyday Carry - EDC). If you are looking for a solid, reliable, and powerful flashlight in the smallest possible size with the added benefit of UV light, then the Fenix LD02 is exactly for you.
All flashlight parameters (luminous flux, battery runtime, waterproofness, beam distance, and impact resistance) are measured in accordance with the ANSI/NEMA FL 1-2009 standard.
Fenix LD02 High CRI + UV Flashlight Parameters
It uses a powerful Cree XQ-E HI Warm LED with a warmer light tint, a CRI index of 90, and a lifespan of 50,000 hours, and a UV LED with a wavelength of 365 nm.
Four output levels:
measured with NiMH rechargeable battery: 70 lumens (0.75 hours) -> 25 lumens (2.9 hours) -> 1 lumen (45 hours) -> UV 200 mW (3 hours).
measured with alkaline battery: 70 lumens (0.65 hours) -> 25 lumens (2.65 hours) -> 1 lumen (75 hours) -> UV 200 mW (4 hours).
It uses only one micro-battery (type AAA - alkaline, lithium, or rechargeable NiMH). These batteries are inexpensive and widely available.
The longest runtime is provided by Energizer L92 lithium micro-batteries (especially suitable for extreme temperature conditions)
Runtime hours are measured with a 750mAh NiMH rechargeable battery.
Supported battery voltage 0.9-1.7V.
Dimensions 9.2 cm (length) x 1.35 cm (diameter).
Weight 24 grams (without batteries).
Made of aircraft-grade hardened aluminum and stainless steel, durable finish - Type III hard anodized.
Impact resistant from a fall of 1 meter.
Waterproof according to IP68 standard (tested underwater at a depth of 2 meters for 30 minutes).
Hardened ultra-clear glass lens with anti-reflective coating.
The reflector creates a smooth light beam with a range of 48 meters (580 cd).
Sturdy steel clip with titanium finish (removable).
On/off and mode switching via the tail switch.
The package includes a spare o-ring and a disposable micro-battery.
Fenix LD02 Flashlight Usage
To turn it on, press the switch located at the end of the flashlight. With the flashlight on, you can change the output modes at any time by pressing the button (they cycle through: low - medium - high - UV).
Overheating protection - after 3 minutes of operation at the highest output, the flashlight will switch to the second mode.
Notice
Do not disassemble the sealed part in the flashlight head yourself, as this will void the warranty.
Use only high-quality micro-batteries to avoid damaging the flashlight, for example, due to leakage of substances from the battery.
Remove the batteries from the flashlight if it will not be used for a long time, or if the battery is already discharged.
Insert the battery with the positive pole facing the flashlight head.
If the protective rubber rings appear damaged after prolonged use, replace them. The rings should also be lubricated to prevent rubber erosion. By following these rules, the flashlight will be properly protected against water.
If the flashlight blinks or does not turn on, it may be due to one of the following reasons:
The batteries are almost depleted - replace them.
The flashlight head is loose, tighten it.
The contacts inside the flashlight are dirty - clean them with a cloth dampened with alcohol.
