Fenix LD36R Flashlight Usage

The flashlight may come with an insulating cap inside on the battery from the factory. Remove this cap from the battery before first use.

Turning On/Off and Switching Modes - Power and Colors - Controlled by a rotary switch and a button. If the rotary switch is in the central locked position, turn it to the desired lighting mode symbol (W for white light or C for colored) to turn on the flashlight. If a lighting mode is already selected on the rotary switch, press and hold the side button for approximately 0.5 seconds to turn the light on or off.

You can switch between white light power modes (W) at any time during operation by briefly pressing the button. Press and hold the button for 1.2 seconds to activate strobe. Pressing the button again will turn off the strobe and return to the previous white light mode.

In colored light mode (C), you can cycle through colors by briefly pressing the button in the following order: red - orange - pink - blue - violet - green. Press and hold the button to activate continuously variable color - release the button when you reach the desired shade. A subsequent brief press will switch back to the previously selected color from the 6 predefined ones.

Memory for Last Set Mode - The flashlight will always turn on in the last selected mode, except for strobe and continuously variable color.

Locking/Unlocking - To prevent accidental activation, e.g., in a backpack, double-press the button quickly (flashlight must be off); the flashlight will flash and be locked. To unlock, double-press the button again quickly. The flashlight can also be locked by moving the rotary switch to the central position. Both locks can be combined by first locking with the button and then with the rotary switch. Accidental activation can also be prevented by loosening the flashlight head.

Battery Replacement - Unscrew the flashlight head and insert the battery with the positive (+) terminal facing the head. Then, fully tighten the flashlight head again.

Charging - Open the dust cover and plug the USB-C charging cable into the flashlight's charging port. Seal the dust cover again after charging is complete. The typical charging time for the included ARB-L21-6000 battery with a 5V/2.5A USB source is 3.5 hours. The indicator light is red during charging. Once the battery is fully charged, the indicator light turns green. The flashlight can be used in any mode except strobe and continuously variable color while charging; however, depending on the battery charge level, not all modes may be available, and the overall charging time may be extended.

Battery Level Indication - When the flashlight is off, a brief press of the button activates the battery level indicator for three seconds. Green indicates a sufficient charge level (100% - 85%), flashing green 85% - 50%, solid red 50% - 25%, and flashing red indicates a critically low battery (25% - 1%). If the battery is depleted, the flashlight will automatically switch to lower power modes until it reaches the lowest mode, at which point the battery indicator will flash red to alert you that the battery needs to be recharged or replaced. The indicator functions correctly only with original batteries.

Intelligent Overheat Protection - When the flashlight is used for extended periods on high power modes, a significant amount of heat can accumulate. If the flashlight reaches a temperature of 60°C or higher, it will automatically reduce the output by several lumens to lower the temperature. Once the temperature drops below 60°C, the output will gradually increase again.

Low Battery Warning - If the battery voltage drops below 3.0V, the flashlight will automatically switch to a lower mode until it reaches the lowest power mode. Once the lowest power mode is reached, the battery status icon on the OLED display will start flashing. In this case, recharge the flashlight as soon as possible or replace the battery with a charged one.

• Do not disassemble the sealed parts in the flashlight head yourself, as this will void the warranty.
• Use only the high-current rechargeable Li-ion 21700 batteries mentioned above.
• If the protective rubber O-rings appear damaged after prolonged use, replace them. The O-rings should also be lubricated to prevent rubber erosion. Adhering to these rules will ensure the flashlight is properly protected against water.
• If the flashlight does not switch to higher power modes, flashes, or does not turn on, it may be due to one of the following reasons:
  
  • The battery is almost depleted - recharge it.
  • The contacts inside the flashlight are dirty - clean them with a cotton swab dipped in alcohol.
  • The tail cap of the flashlight is loose - tighten it.
