Fenix ARB-L14-2200U rechargeable USB AA battery, 2200 mAh

The rechargeable battery Fenix ARB-L14-2200U serves as a replacement for classic AA pencil batteries. Inside, it is a Li-ion cell equipped with control electronics that maintain a constant output voltage of 1.5 V for the first 70-80% of capacity, and then maintain a constant 1.2 V until discharged. The battery is therefore particularly suitable for devices that are sensitive to voltage levels and, for example, do not work correctly with rechargeable NiMH batteries, or only for a short time. The battery capacity is 2200 mAh (3.3 Wh, which corresponds to a capacity of 2750 mAh for NiMH).

The battery is charged only via the built-in USB-C connector, so it can be charged from a computer, a mobile phone charger, a power bank, or another USB source. It cannot be charged in a classic charger!

The battery also has built-in protection against deep discharge and short circuits (maximum continuous discharge current is approx. 3 A). The battery is therefore suitable for example for cameras, navigation devices, laboratory equipment, and other devices. The battery is also compatible with all Fenix headlamps and flashlights that use AA batteries. These include, for example, the Fenix E12, E20, LD12R, LD22, HM23, HP16R models.

When using this battery, it is important to note that it is not possible to reliably determine the remaining capacity based on the output voltage. During the first 70-80%, the voltage is constantly 1.5 V, and only then does it drop to 1.2 V under load. It depends on how the devices interpret the voltage drop from 1.5 V to 1.2 V when the remaining battery capacity drops to 20-30%. When the battery is completely discharged, its voltage drops suddenly from 1.2 V to 0 V.

Charging via USB-C connector

Connect the USB cable to the side USB-C connector. During charging, the indicator light on the top of the battery glows red. When fully charged, it glows blue.
