Rab Stratosphere 4 Insulated Mat

The Rab Stratosphere 4 insulated mat is designed for three-season use and offers very good thermal comfort and, above all, increased durability. Thanks to its 8 cm height, you won't easily bottom out, and it's also very suitable for side sleepers. The two side baffles are higher, which helps keep you in position on the mat. The rectangular shape is also a big plus, further increasing sleeping comfort. The mat is quiet, so you won't wake your sleeping companions when moving around.



Internal Insulation

The Rab Stratosphere 4 achieves a very respectable R-value of 3.8, making it a fully-fledged mat for three-season use. The internal synthetic Stratus™ insulation, made from completely recycled materials for sustainability, takes care of insulation from the ground.



Sustainability

As a climate-neutral company, Rab naturally uses recycled materials in its production. The outer material is recycled 75D polyester with an internal TPU layer and fluorine-free DWR. The outer fabric also has a textured print that helps keep your sleeping bag in place.



Easy and Fast Inflation

Rab has really succeeded with the valve. We find it on the bottom of the mat on the side; it's flat and therefore doesn't get in the way at all. To inflate, simply flip open the first cap, and you can start inflating; in this case, air only goes into the mat in one direction (it cannot deflate). Once you want to deflate the mat, just flip open the second cap, and the air is out in a second. Deflation is surprisingly easy and fast. The package also includes a great inflation sack. In our opinion, this is the best inflation sack we have ever seen. It's huge but weighs only 71 grams. It's incredibly easy to scoop air into it, has taped seams, and can easily be used as a fully waterproof bag, which you can use, for example, as a dry bag for your sleeping bag. You can inflate the mat in about 3 repetitions. Easy and fast, we give this 10 out of 10 points.



Great Stuff Sack

Another thing Rab has really succeeded with is the perfect stuff sack for the mat. It works completely differently from all the traditional stuff sacks from other manufacturers. It's essentially a simple bag with an elasticated hem, into which you easily place the packed mat, and the opening is covered by a simple "lid" with integrated elastic bands. There's no struggle packing here. Packing is truly child's play. Inside the sack, you'll also find a pocket with a repair kit.



Dimensions

It is produced in two sizes. Regular is the standard 183 x 51 cm in a rectangular shape. The Large version will be used primarily by taller individuals thanks to its dimensions of 196 x 64 cm. Four-season variant Rab Stratosphere 5.5. Pillow Rab Stratosphere.
