Fenix HP12R-T rechargeable headlamp, 1300 lm, black
Fenix HP12R-T is a high-performance headlamp with a practical design featuring a separate rear battery compartment. Thanks to its dual reflectors, it delivers a luminous flux of up to 1300 lumens (ANSI) and a beam distance of up to 200 meters. The reflectors create well-focused beams that illuminate both far and near simultaneously.
- The main reflector emits cool white light (approx. 6500 K), ideal for general good visibility.
- The secondary reflector has a neutral white hue (approx. 4500 K), which penetrates fog, rain, and snow better, making it excellent for bad weather conditions.
For maximum output, both reflectors can be activated simultaneously in turbo mode (1300 lm) or low mode (70 lm). Independently, the main reflector offers four lighting modes (up to 1300 lm) and the secondary reflector offers three modes (up to 500 lm). For safety and special situations, the headlamp is also equipped with a front red light, red SOS flashing, and a red light and flasher on the rear battery case. Power is supplied by a replaceable 4000 mAh Li-ion battery, conveniently rechargeable via a modern USB-C connector directly in the headlamp body. Like other top-tier Fenix trail headlamps, the HP12R-T features a strap with the SPORT FIT system. With a single dial, you can easily and quickly tighten the headlamp with one hand. The perforated strap with reflective elements is breathable, comfortable, and enhances your passive safety. A practical bonus is the integrated whistle for emergency situations. Thanks to its balanced design, the headlamp is an ideal choice for trail running, cycling, and skiing. It will also serve you excellently for hiking, climbing, camping, fishing, or even in industrial and professional environments. It is simply a reliable partner for every situation!
All headlamp parameters (luminous flux, battery runtime, waterproofness, beam distance, and impact resistance) are measured in accordance with the ANSI/NEMA FL 1-2009 standard.

Usage
The battery compartment may contain an insulating cover on the battery from the factory. Remove this cover from the battery before first use.
Turning On/Off and Switching Modes - The cooler reflector is turned on by pressing and holding the right button (approx. 0.5s). The neutral white light reflector is turned on by pressing and holding the left button (0.5s). Both reflectors can be turned on simultaneously in turbo mode (1300 lm) or low mode (70 lm) by pressing the button of the reflector you wish to add. With the headlamp off, it turns on to red light with a double-quick press of either button. Light modes are cycled by a short press of the illuminated reflector's button. The light turns off again by pressing and holding the respective button for 0.5s. The rear red light/flasher is turned on by pressing and holding the button on the battery case (approx. 0.5s), and switching between flashing and steady light is done by short presses.
Locking/Unlocking - Locking: The control buttons can be locked to prevent accidental activation, e.g., during transport in luggage. With the headlamp off, press and hold both buttons until the headlamp flashes, indicating it is locked. To unlock, press and hold both buttons again until the headlamp flashes and turns on.
Memory for Last Set Output Mode - The headlamp has memory and will turn on in the last set output mode of the respective reflector.
Battery Replacement - Unscrew the cap on the rear battery case and insert/remove the battery according to the polarity markings. Replace the cap and tighten firmly.
Charging - Open the dust cover on the battery case and connect the USB-C charging cable to the charging port. After charging is complete, replace the dust cover. The typical charging time is approximately 3.5 hours with a 5V/2.5A USB power source for a fully discharged headlamp when turned off. The headlamp can be used while charging, but this will extend the charging time. During the charging process, indicators will light up and flash sequentially. When all indicators are steadily lit, charging is complete.
Battery Level Indication - After a short press of either button (headlamp must be off), the battery level indicator LED on the battery case will activate. Four lit LEDs indicate 80-100% battery charge, three lit LEDs indicate 50-80%, two lit LEDs indicate 40-50%, one lit LED indicates 20-40%, and one flashing LED indicates less than 20% charge. The indication works correctly only with original batteries.
Intelligent Overheat Protection - During prolonged use of the headlamp on high output modes, a significant amount of heat can accumulate. When the headlamp reaches 60°C or higher, it will automatically reduce the output by a few lumens to lower the temperature. When the temperature drops below 60°C, the output will increase again to the previous level.
Low Battery Warning - If the battery voltage drops below a set level, the headlamp will automatically switch to a lower mode until it reaches the lowest output mode of the cooler white light. Once the lowest output is reached, the headlamp will flash every 5 minutes to remind you to recharge or replace the battery. This function works only with original batteries.
Head Strap - The strap is assembled from the factory. To tighten the strap, turn the dial counter-clockwise. To loosen the strap, turn the dial clockwise. Further turning the dial after maximum loosening will start tightening the strap again, reversing the loosening and tightening direction.
Notice
- Do not disassemble sealed parts yourself, as this will void the warranty.
- Fenix recommends using high-quality original Fenix ARB-L18 series batteries.
- Remove the battery from the battery case if you will not be using it for an extended period, or if the battery is depleted. Disposable batteries may leak and subsequently damage the headlamp.
- Lock the headlamp or remove the battery to prevent accidental activation during storage or transport.
- Always check carefully that you are inserting the batteries into the headlamp with the correct polarity.
- If the headlamp flashes, does not switch to higher output modes, or does not turn on, it may be due to one of the following reasons:
- The battery is nearly depleted – recharge it.
- The headlamp is locked, unlock it (see user manual).
Warranty
Five-year warranty on the headlamp and two years on the battery.
