Their proprietary, ground-up design utilizes custom bearings, seals, sleeves, and cups that eliminate annoying creaking. The system combines top-tier weather protection with optimized radial bearing compression and precise preload for minimal drag. Wolf Tooth bearings utilize a specific design where both the balls and races are made from hardened chrome bearing steel. This has higher surface hardness than stainless steel, increasing race life and reducing both rolling resistance and noise. Additionally, the bearing races are coated with ACOSUR ZNA, providing corrosion resistance equal to or better than stainless steel, as verified by a 500-hour salt spray test. By eliminating metal-on-metal contact and employing a sophisticated seal, these bottom brackets deliver top performance in any condition.
