FFWD RAW CS Wheelset
The absolute pinnacle of the range is represented by the RAW CS (CS stands for Carbon Spokes) wheel series. The rim uses LAW TECH technology, where LAW is an acronym for "Laminar Airflow Wing", just like the RYOT wheel series. This proprietary FFWD design optimizes aerodynamics and stiffness, especially when used with wider tires. The wheels are designed primarily for road use and are optimized for perfect power transfer and airflow.
For the RAW CS wheel series, the rims have been modified, the spoke count reduced to 21, and completely new hubs developed in cooperation with the Danish brand Ceramic Speed. Ceramic Speed produces larger diameter bearings for FFWD for increased strength and durability (these are not standard sizes!). The hub itself has a special flange for the heads of the carbon spokes, a weight-optimized freehub body, and the overall quality of the hub is on par with Switzerland's DT Swiss, including their star-ratchet system.
The lacing consists of the highest quality carbon spokes, which have a tensile strength of at least 2000N (the best steel spokes have around 1600N). The spoke is tensioned using a two-component nipple, so it is replaceable and serviceable. The spoke count has been intentionally reduced from 24 to 21, as the lacing exhibits much better properties and dampens vibrations better while maintaining uncompromising stiffness.
