Restrap Switch Direct Mount Adapter
Like our Switch Rack, but would you prefer to use the mounting holes on your bike's frame?
In that case, the Direct Mount adapters are just for you. Convert your thru-axle Switch Rack into a direct-mount rack.
(Note: if you don't already own a Switch Rack, it is possible to purchase the rack including adapters.)
The Direct Mount adapters for the Switch Rack are designed to fit all bikes with horizontal/inline M5 mounting holes for racks and mudguards. All mounting hardware is included.
Mounting the Direct Mount adapters:
- The Direct Mount adapters are designed to be compatible with frames that have horizontal/inline M5 mounting points at the dropouts.
- They can be fitted to frames with M5 mounting points on the seat stays, but it is important to ensure they are horizontal and inline to prevent the rack from binding during fitting.
- The Direct Mount adapters are not intended for use with frames that have upward or inward angled M5 mounting points.
- For frames with 135mm and 142mm axles, set the adapters so the short end engages with the rack mounting point. For frames with 148mm (Boost) axles, set the adapters so the long end engages with the rack mounting point.
- Mount the rack/adapters to the frame and secure using the M5 bolts provided.
- The M5 bolts are supplied in two lengths, 40mm and 50mm.
- The choice of bolt depends on the spacing and thickness of the dropouts on your specific frame.
Completing the rack fitting:
- Ensure the rubberised fabric strap is wrapped tightly around the seat post or seat stay.
- Using the velcro, securely fasten the fitting to the seat post/seat stay.
- Tighten all bolts.
Compatibility:
- Compatible with bikes with 135mm, 142mm and 148mm (Boost) spacing.
- Not intended for use with full suspension frames.
