Pirelli Scorpion™ XC RC 29x2.2" ProWALL SmartGRIP TLR Tire
The Scorpion XC tire range is designed for everyday cross-country riding. They are suitable not only for purely competitive use, where everything depends on speed and a good line, but also for relaxed, recreational rides.The Pirelli Scorpion XC RC tire was designed to handle the various terrains and surfaces found on XCO courses: from artificially built technical sections to natural surfaces, from hard to soft and loose conditions. The ideal choice for a racer who wants to achieve maximum speed and can keep their bike firmly under control.
SmartGRIP
Unlike multi-compound mixtures (two or three), the single-compound SmartGRIP formulation allows for balanced riding characteristics throughout its entire lifespan. The greater mechanical resistance of the rubber also provides greater resistance not only to wear but also to punctures, thus requiring more force to cut or puncture the tire.
ProWALL
Tyre sidewall protection reinforcement technology for greater puncture resistance and more stable performance when using low tire pressures. The added layer of nylon fabric over the casing on the sidewall increases resistance not only to cuts and pinch flats but also improves the overall behavior of the tire in corners, allowing for better bike control and more precise line holding. These characteristics have been achieved without compromising tire weight and pedaling efficiency, making tires with this technology ideal for use in competitive XC racing up to aggressive Trail riding, when complemented by a suitable casing (120 tpi or 60 tpi respectively).
