The Scorpion™ E-MTB M is Pirelli's most versatile tire specifically designed for use on electric bikes on trails and enduro. It is designed for everyday riding on local trails and weekend racing. It provides consistent performance and predictable behavior throughout its lifespan.

Introducing the first results of Pirelli's work under the supervision of DH legend Fabien Barel and in collaboration with racing downhill and enduro teams. Scorpion™ E-MTB is a range of 3 different tread patterns for different terrain conditions, from M (mixed surface), through R (all-round rear tire), to S (soft and loose surface), developed to offer a complete range of high-performance tires for everyday trail use. The Scorpion™ E-MTB product line is designed for high-performance electric mountain bikes. The tires are designed to withstand the power of modern electric bikes, whose torques are constantly increasing. Scorpion™ E-MTB provides grip and reliability where it's needed: the patented HyperWALL™ construction achieves the reliability of a DH (downhill) tire without excessive weight, while the patented SmartGRIP Gravity rubber compound allows for grip on dry and wet surfaces, as well as excellent tear resistance, thanks to a patented and sustainable chemical component called Lignin. The tire thus has performance that lasts throughout its lifespan, even after partial tread wear.

An innovative technology that Pirelli has brought to the world of cycling thanks to its experience and background in motorsport: a newly designed bead and sidewall construction that further enhances its properties – handling at low pressures and pinch flat resistance. Key features for off-road use, especially in the most demanding disciplines like gravity and eMTB, are the integrity of the tire bead and sidewall stability. The tread with a sophisticated rubber compound relies heavily on the stability and integrity of the bead and sidewall, and its behavior depends on them. Pirelli has introduced a construction where the bead and the rubber insert of the sidewall are firmly attached by a fabric composite, so they behave as one piece, not two separate components with the possibility of movement relative to each other, which is the common standard for tire constructions. The benefits of this technology in numbers (based on Pirelli's internal laboratory and practical tests): improved bead stability (+10%), better pinch flat protection (+50%), better handling at low pressures (+25%), greater resistance to sidewall cuts.
The HyperWALL construction is a technology intended for electric mountain bikes, as it provides additional reinforcement of the tire sidewalls and better puncture resistance. The rubber insert firmly connected to the bead provides excellent pinch flat protection, and at the same time, stronger support at lower inflation pressures.
SmartGRIP Gravity
The SmartGRIP Gravity rubber compound is a race-ready choice. It draws on decades of experience and know-how in motocross, incorporating valuable feedback from former World Cup champions.

PSI - indicates the pressure to which the manufacturer recommends inflating the tire. 1 atmosphere = 14.7 PSI
TPI (EPI) - the density of the tire's skeleton fibres. The higher the TPI value, the more flexible the tire will be.
Kevlar tire - foot made of Kevlar fibres. The tire can be folded, so it is more practical when moving or storing. It is characterized by a lower weight compared to wire casings and a higher resistance to puncture.
Wire tire - bead made of wire. The tire is inflexible, it is heavier than Kevlar.
