Evolution without compromise: new rims – higher, wider, lighter and more aerodynamic – new hubs and new spokes combine into a perfect wheel system.
Speed 42 and 57 are the culmination of a process that involved over 4000 hours of testing in the wind tunnel, laboratory and on the classic road. Seven rim versions were tested in multiple configurations to obtain the best performance in terms of aerodynamics, rolling resistance, lightness and handling without compromising safety.
The rim is constructed from resins and fibers manufactured to Fulcrum specifications, where, unlike previous versions, the Speed 42 uses a new composite blend of high-modulus unidirectional FF100 fibers. Thanks to numerous experiments, we have achieved a perfect blend of fibers which, together with their correct distribution and extremely precise resin control, allows us to create a product that works within the correct elasticity range, guaranteeing performance specifications and an excellent ride feel.
The graphics have also been completely redesigned, reflecting the new Form Function Fulcrum brand identity with a minimal yet refined design that includes new icons providing all the technical information about the product.
