The top aero model in the FFWD range uses a rim with LAW TECH technology in its second generation, where LAW stands for "Laminar Airflow Wing". This proprietary FFWD design optimizes aerodynamics and stiffness, especially when used with wider tires. The wheels are designed for universal use on the road and gravel and are optimized for perfect power transfer and airflow. Compared to the first generation of the RYOT model, the new wheels have rims manufactured using the same technology as the higher-end RAW model, which has led to significant weight savings while maintaining uncompromising wheel durability. The external brass nipples used facilitate serviceability and increase wheel durability. The lacing is a combination of Sapim CX Ray and CX Sprint spokes in a 2:1 ratio, contributing to better stress distribution in the spokes and balanced stiffness on both sides. The package is completed by proprietary FFWD hubs in their second generation, designated as N/GAGE 2:1 Straightpull. These hubs are an evolution of the proven FFWD TWO/ONE hubs with lower weight and a star-ratchet freehub system. This represents a unique balance between excellent performance and price among modern wide all-round wheelsets.
