Fenix BC30 V2.0 front light, display piece
Fenix BC30 V2.0 Bike Light
The second generation of the extremely powerful Fenix BC30 V2.0 bike light delivers a luminous flux of up to 2200 lumens (ANSI). It can be powered by two rechargeable 18650 Li-ion batteries with a protruding positive pole (18650 batteries without a protruding positive pole may have insufficient contact in the flashlight), or four disposable CR123A batteries. The light source consists of two modern Luminus SST-40 LEDs.The flashlight uses the proven 'Dual Distance Beam System' technology. The main beam is created by a specially designed optic and reaches up to a distance of 187 meters, while the secondary wide beam is complemented by an optical lens shaped at the top to bend upward-directed light downwards. This creates a beam that smoothly illuminates the entire area in front of the bike – including areas not covered by conventional bike lights.
Compared to the previous generation, this bike light is equipped with a wireless remote control, which can be used to change lighting modes or activate the Burst mode. The holder design allows for quick tool-free mounting and removal of the light from the handlebars. Furthermore, the holder allows for quick removal of the flashlight, so it can also be used as a high-power handheld flashlight.
You can purchase an additional handlebar mount for a second bike, or the Fenix ALD-08 mount for a cycling helmet or flat aero road handlebars.
The Fenix BC30 V2.0 bike light will provide you with quality illumination for night training, regular commutes to work, and 24-hour races.
Batteries are not included in the package.
Using the Fenix BC30 V2.0 Bike Light
To turn the light on or off, press and hold the button for approximately 0.5 seconds. The flashlight will always turn on in the lowest mode. You can switch between further power levels at any time during operation by pressing the button. To switch to flashing mode, double-click the button quickly. If the flashlight is on, you can also switch modes using the wireless remote control. The Burst mode is activated by pressing the button with the lightning symbol, while other lighting modes are switched using the other smaller button. The flashlight can be turned off by pressing and holding the smaller button for 0.5 seconds. Before using the wireless remote control for the first time, it needs to be paired with the flashlight: Press and hold the control button on the flashlight for 5 seconds. The button will then flash green and red alternately, and the flashlight will turn off. Then, press any button on the remote control, and the flashlight will turn back on as an indicator of successful pairing. The distance between the flashlight and the remote control should not exceed 1.5 meters during pairing. This process only needs to be done once; the remote control and the flashlight are then permanently paired.
Battery Level Indication
During flashlight operation, the indicator LED in the button lights up. If the indicator LED is green, the batteries are charged to over 80%. Orange light indicates 40-80% capacity. If it is red, the batteries are charged to 10-40%. Red flashing indicates less than 10% battery capacity remaining (this only works when using 18650 Li-ion batteries). If the button is already flashing red, the flashlight will automatically switch to lower power modes to ensure the longest possible runtime. In this case, we recommend replacing the batteries with charged ones as soon as possible to prevent the protective electronics built into the batteries from shutting down, thus turning off the light. The indication can also be activated when the flashlight is off; simply briefly press the control button, and the indicator LED will light up for three seconds.Note: The low battery indicator is adapted for 18650 batteries for proper function. When using disposable CR123A cells, it may not signal correctly.
Battery Replacement
- Loosen the battery compartment by turning the lock on the back of the flashlight to the left.
- Pull out the battery compartment.
- Insert the batteries according to the indicated polarity.
- Slide the battery compartment back into the flashlight.
- Secure the compartment by turning the lock to the right.
Remote Control Battery Replacement
- Use a coin to open the back cover of the remote control by turning it counterclockwise.
- Replace the CR1632 battery. Ensure correct polarity.
- Close and secure the back cover with a coin by turning it clockwise.
- The battery in the remote control lasts approximately 360 hours of use.
Warning
- Do not disassemble the sealed parts of the flashlight yourself, as this will void the warranty.
- If the power button is red and you cannot switch to high power modes, the batteries are discharged and need to be replaced.
- If the flashlight flashes or does not turn on, it may be due to one of the following reasons:
- The batteries are discharged – replace them.
- The contacts on the connectors are dirty. Clean them with a cotton swab dipped in alcohol.
