French company Nova Ride was founded in 2016 in Clermont-Ferrand, specializing in the design of high-end bicycle components. Nova Ride is more than just a brand, it is primarily a community of cyclists who have designed their own components to offer them at more competitive prices for passionate riders and cycling enthusiasts. The concept of the Nova Ride carbon derailleur hanger is based on the modern and proven OSPW (Oversized Pulley Wheel Systems) system, characterized by the use of pulleys with a larger number of teeth than those used by derailleur manufacturers.
The 3mm thick carbon hangers ensure maximum possible torsional stiffness when shifting gears. Thanks to the 14-tooth upper and 17-tooth lower pulley, the chain's movement is optimized as it passes over the pulleys, minimizing bending and friction, thus saving 4-6 watts compared to a standard hanger. Both color-anodized pulleys are made of strong AL7075 duralumin alloy and equipped with full ceramic bearings with minimal rolling resistance, requiring no special maintenance or lubrication! The full ceramic bearings feature high-precision ceramic balls and ceramic races made of silicon nitride. The main advantages of full ceramic bearings compared to standard bearings are their longer lifespan, lower weight, greater strength, lower rolling resistance, and excellent anti-corrosion properties. Their weight is about 60% lower, while being 7 times stronger than steel balls. The used seal minimizes friction and protects the bearing against dirt ingress. The Crash replacement program ensures the possibility of replacing a damaged hanger with a new one at the importer with a 50% discount from the retail price.
