Continental Grand Prix 5000 650x25B (25 mm) tire, kevlar
The new Continental GrandPrix 5000 is here. The GP5000 tire is made of a 3-layer material with TPI 330 and the Black Chilli compound has been improved. The Vectran Breaker safety belt has also been innovated, puncture protection has been increased by 20% while reducing weight by 10g. The designers managed to reduce rolling resistance by 12% compared to the GrandPrix 4000 S II in the new model.
Two new features have also been added, such as Active Comfort Technology, which is designed to absorb vibrations, and Lazer Grip, which provides better grip in corners.

PSI - indicates the pressure to which the manufacturer recommends inflating the tire. 1 atmosphere = 14.7 PSI
TPI (EPI) - the density of the tire's skeleton fibres. The higher the TPI value, the more flexible the tire will be.
Kevlar tire - foot made of Kevlar fibres. The tire can be folded, so it is more practical when moving or storing. It is characterized by a lower weight compared to wire casings and a higher resistance to puncture.
Wire tire - bead made of wire. The tire is inflexible, it is heavier than Kevlar.
