688 LLU MAX BO - Max Type, Black Oxide, ABEC-3 Radial Suspension Bearing - 8mm x 16mm x 5mm.
Enduro Bearings pioneered MAX type bearings for bicycles nearly 20 years ago to address the challenges of mountain bike pivots. MAX bearings provide a 35-40% higher load capacity than standard radial bearings due to the use of a special design where the maximum number of balls (full complement) is inserted into the bearing through its own ground groove in the rings. The racing grooves are also deeper on these bearings to provide increased lateral support to counteract the twisting and multi-directional forces associated with mountain bike pivots. This MAX, Black-Oxide, ABEC-3 type bearing features deep groove grooves, class 10 balls and a full contact double edge labyrinth seal (LLU) for maximum protection from the elements while retaining 90% Almagard extra high pressure lubricant fill inside and finish Black-Oxide/Magnetite provides an extra level of corrosion resistance and extended worry-free performance. This bearing is used by many bike brands as a suspension pivot bearing. Enduro series bearings are available in high carbon chrome steel, 440C stainless steel, ceramic-hybrid and XD15 with ceramic or stainless steel balls. Our bearings are always engineered with the deepest grooves to accommodate the largest balls and feature double lip seals that run in the microgroove to create a complete labyrinth that provides excellent protection from the elements.
