Rab Electron Pro jacket, deep ink
The Rab Electron Pro pen is the direct successor of the proven Electron model. It has found its place especially among those who don't care so much about the minimum weight, but mainly want to be warm!
The jacket is filled with 190 grams of premium goose down with a filling of 800 cuin and additionally treated with a hydrophobic treatment from Nikwax. A certificate of origin of RDS feathers is a matter of course at Rab.
Since this year, Rab has started using recycled materials in a number of products, the Electron Pro has a recycled inner 20D nylon with a weight of 38g/m2.
As the upper material, the proven 20D Pertex Quantum Pro is used, which, unlike Pertex Quantum, also has a polyurethane coating, thus it has higher water resistance (it is not waterproof!). Of course, a high-quality surface water-repellent DWR treatment must not be missing.
Compared to the previous model, it can be seen that the jacket is more oriented towards the mountains. The main YKK zipper is two-way, which mountaineers will especially appreciate. The hood has also received minor modifications, it is compatible with the helmet and the zipper is now integrated inside. Of course, there is a solid visor.
The sleeve cuffs have also been redesigned and now have two elastic tabs on the inside. A small detail that you will greatly appreciate when covering your palm with a sleeve or, for example, when cooking...
You can easily warm your hands in two large zippered pockets, which are placed higher, so that they can be easily reached even with a climbing harness. A smaller inner pocket for small items is also very pleasing.
The lower edge of the jacket can of course be easily pulled down.
Bottom line... The Electron Pro is an excellent all-purpose mountain jacket with the ideal balance between weight and warmth.
