If you own an eBike, you know that cleaning and lubricating the chain is a tricky business because the cranks don't rotate backwards like they do on a regular bike unless they're upside down. However, this can scratch components, or if you use an allen key in the crank bolt, it can get stuck in the bolt, or worse, damage your precious cranks! That's why we knew we had to come to the rescue with a radical new tool that allows you to clean and lubricate your eBike chain quickly and easily.

Our new precision engineered eBike drivetrain tool features three different tool sizes that snap together with a magnetic connection, all wrapped in a durable 6061 CNC machined aluminum body. It fits directly onto the chain ring so you can rotate the crank backwards, and the protective silicone sleeve prevents any damage to the crank.

It comes with a handy lanyard and carabiner clip so you can always have the tool close at hand when your drivetrain needs a little love!

Manual:
1. Unscrew the top cover and then remove the bit holder from inside the body.
2. Choose the appropriate tool bit for your crank (5mm, 6mm hex, T30 hex), then put the tool bit holder back in and screw the top cover back on.
3. Insert the selected tool bit into the end of the tool. You will feel it magnetically snap into place.
4. Place the tool bit in place on the crank bolt, making sure it is level and centered.
5. Slowly rotate the directional pedals backwards until the crank is close to the silicone sleeve on the body of the tool.
6. Rotate the crank backwards while holding the pedal to perform the cleaning and lubrication mode.
7. It may be necessary to step forward slightly when removing the drivetrain tool from the chain bolt.
8. Carefully remove the tool and place the bit back in the bit holder.

Note: Regularly spray a protectant such as HCB-1, MO-94 or Bike Protect on the end and magnet to ensure zero corrosion.

Frequently asked questions:
Question 1: Is it safe to turn the cranks and sprocket on the eBike backwards?
Answer: Yes, it is safe. During development, we had this verified by a Bosch motor service technician who confirmed that it would not cause any problems with the motor.

Question 2: Will the tool fit all eBike chain cranks?
A: Our tool is not compatible with non-spider chainrings, but will fit most chainrings that use spider screws. Due to the tapered chainring spider on some ebikes like the Specialized Levo SL, the tool bit is slightly too short to fit into the chainring bolt.

Question 3: Will this tool damage my crank arms?
Answer: No, we designed the tool with a protective silicone sleeve that wraps around the body of the tool and rests against the crank arms when in use.

Question 4: How sustainable is this product?
Answer: The product is designed to last throughout its lifetime. After the end of its useful life, the individual materials used to make the tool can be separated and recycled (aluminum, silicone, rubber and steel). All packaging is cardboard, which can also be easily recycled.
