Tern Link C8 20 bike

A lot of Tern's top technology packed into a mid-priced folding bike. That's the Link C8. Universal jigsaw tuned thanks to 3D forged steering column, double rear frame of Tern TrussTM technology, good gearing and comfortable tires. These are the reasons why people like her. Not to mention how easy it is to take it down, hide it in the apartment, place it in the elevator, or transport it by tram or train. The Link C8 is a great bike for everyday use when riding to work or for fun, but you will also appreciate its rigid frame and excellent geometry during longer trips. Two color variants will make you happy. One decent and one playful.

We can call the Link C8 without any complaints the successor of the best-selling puzzle on the Czech and Slovak market, which was the Tern Link D8 model until 2015. However, it was significantly updated for the 2016 season and was replaced by the "cé eight", which primarily retains the top-quality rigid Physis steering column, eight speeds with a cassette ranging from 11 to 30 teeth, and Impac tires, which have the characteristics and pattern to match the very well-known and comfortable tire Schwalbe Big Apple (Impac is an economic brand belonging to Schwalbe or Ralf Bohle).

Aluminium frame

Lighter, relatively durable and stiff material that is affordable. The most widespread material for the production of bicycle frames.

20” wheels

Wheel size used mainly on children's bikes and balance bikes. The size usually correspond to the frame size of the particular bike.

V-brakes

The most widespread type of brakes for affordable bikes and children's bikes. Better transfer of force to the brake arms. Not very well protected against external forces. Loss of braking effect in mud or wet conditions.

Rigid fork

You will appreciate the lighter weight and stiffness, especially when riding on the road or bike path. Minimal service.

Due to long-term issues with the supply of components, some manufacturers exceptionally approach changes of installed components contrary to the specification without letting us know. Unfortunately, it is not in our power to go through each bike and verify the differences between the manufacturer's stated components and its actual equipment. Alternative parts should meet the same standards as the original. We apologise for any discrepancies.

How we ship bikes

All bicycles at the MTBIKER shop are new, not-ridden, from an official distributor and with a full warranty. Several brands even offer a lifetime warranty on the frame after registration. We perform all warranty services in MTBIKER stores after personal delivery or after sending the bike (or its part) by courier.

Our bike shipment is as follows:

The bicycle is taken out of the manufacturer's box
The bicycle is assembled, inspected and adjusted (front and rear derailleur, shock, fork, wheels,...)
The bicycle is carefully packed back into a box and shipped
If you order a bicycle for in store pick up or home delivery, the bicycle will be waiting put together, checked and ready to use for you.
If you order a bicycle via courier to your home address, the following must be done at home:
1. Take the bike out of the box and carefully remove safety material and foils
2. Mount handlebar to stem (1 minute, 4 or 5 mm hex hey is needed).
3. Mount front wheel to fork (1 minute, without the need of any tools if the bike has a quick release).
4. Loosen the screws in the headset, straighten the stem with the front wheel, tighten the upper screw on the fork and then tighten the headset (2 minutes, 4 or 5 mm hex key is needed).
5. Mount the pedals to the cranks while lubricating the thread and carefully mounting it the right way (1 minute, 8 mm hex key or 15 mm wrench).
6. Mount seatpost to frame (10 seconds, without needing any tools if the frame has a quick link).
7. Inflate the tyres or fork and shock to desired pressure (2 minutes, pump needed).
8. Check the tightening of hex keys and quick-releases (2 minutes, 4 and 5 mm hex key is needed).
9. Go for a test drive! Handle your bicycle carefully until you get used to it. If the bike has disc brakes, their performance will be limited from now on - they will gain their full power after 4-5 strong brakes at higher speed.
