Suunto 5 Peak GPS watch

The new Suunto 5 Peak helps you take the first step and move on. This lightweight GPS watch equips you with easy-to-use sports and outdoor functions, great battery life and music control. It also monitors your sleep and daily well-being.

Bluetooth connectivity: Suunto 5 watches use Bluetooth technology to send and receive information from your mobile device when you pair your watch with the Suunto app. If you have paired your watch with the Suunto app and are using an Android phone, you can receive notifications of incoming calls and text messages on your watch.

Media control: Your Suunto 5 can be used to control music, podcasts, other media played on your phone or transferred from your phone to another device.

Activity monitoring: The watch tracks your overall activity level throughout the day. All-day activity is an important factor for maintaining fitness and health or training for an upcoming competition. It's good to be active, but when training hard, you should also include rest days with a low level of activity. The activity counter is automatically reset at midnight. At the end of the week, the watch will show you a summary of your activities. You can see the total number of steps for a given day on the watch face display by pressing the bottom right button. Your watch counts steps using an accelerometer. The total number of steps is read continuously, even when training or other activity is being recorded. For some specific sports, such as swimming or cycling, steps are not counted. In addition to steps, you can press the upper left button to see an estimate of the total calories burned for the day.

Recovery: Recovery time is an estimate of how long your body needs to recover after a workout. It is expressed in hours. The result is based on the duration and intensity of the training and on your overall fatigue. Recovery time is accumulated from all types of exercises. In other words, recovery time is accumulated from both long, low-intensity workouts and intense workouts. This time is also accumulated over different trainings, which means that if you start training before this time expires, the newly accumulated time will be added to the time remaining from the previous training. Because the recovery time is only an estimate, the accumulated hours are deducted equally regardless of your fitness level or other individual factors. If you are in very good shape, you can regenerate faster than the estimates indicate. If, on the other hand, you have, for example, the flu, regeneration may be slower than estimated.

Sports modes: The watch comes with pre-loaded sports modes. Modes are designed for specific activities and purposes, from an outdoor walk to a triathlon race. Each sport mode has a unique set of screens that display different data depending on the selected sport mode. You can edit and customize the data displayed on the watch display during exercise using the Suunto app.

Interval training: Interval training is a common form of training. It consists of repeated sections with high and low intensity. In the Suunto 5 watch, you can define your own interval training for each sport mode.

You can use Suunto 5 while swimming in pools: When you use the sport mode of swimming in a pool, the watch uses the length of the pool to determine the distance swum. You can change the length of the pool as needed in the sports mode options, even before you start swimming.

Sleep monitoring: A good night's sleep is important for both mental and physical health. You can use your watch to measure your sleep and track how much time you sleep on average. If you keep your Suunto 5 on when you go to sleep, it will measure your sleep based on accelerometer data. In addition to sleep duration, your watch also evaluates sleep quality. They are based on the variability of heart rate during sleep. Heart rate variability during sleep indicates how sleep helps you relax and regenerate. Sleep quality is displayed in the sleep summary as a value on a scale of 0 to 100, where 100 is the highest quality.
