Thanks to the combination of MERINO NATURTEC RIPS, NATURTEC LIGHT and wool materials, it provides maximum resistance, breathability, functionality and comfort. • The ergonomically shaped sleeves can be pulled down using Velcro cuffs.
• The belt and hood can be tightened with integrated laces and is compatible with a climbing helmet. The drawstrings are hidden in the tunnels, so they won't bother you in the wind.
• The collar is high so that even when looking up, your face is perfectly protected. On the inside of the collar (on the chin) you will find MERINO MESH material, which is very pleasant to the touch. MERINO MESH absorbs moisture from the breath and is comfortable even after getting wet.
• The jacket has two large pockets, in which you can hide a map, topo and other necessary things. The pockets are located higher, so you can get into them through the waist belt of the backpack or the seat harness. The inside of the pockets is made of mesh, and the pockets also serve as ventilation holes.
• The main zipper of the jacket is two-way, which you will appreciate when working with a safety belt.

Combination of synthetics and wool for maximum durability and functionality

The ORTOVOX WESTALPEN SOFTSHELL JACKET emphasizes breathability and durability. That is why the hard MERINO NATURTEC LIGHT softshell from the Swiss company Schoeller® is used here. The material has a water-repellent treatment. Therefore, dirt does not stick to it and drops of water run off. The wool on the inside quickly wicks away sweat and keeps you warm even after the jacket is sweaty. The highly resistant MERINO NATURTEC RIPS material is used on the shoulders and sleeves, where the jacket is most stressed. Thanks to this, the jacket is extremely resistant to abrasion, which can be useful for the most demanding rock lengths.

The highest quality Merino wool

ORTOVOX uses only the highest quality Merino wool from Tasmania. Merino wool is a material that degrades only negligibly over time and retains its functional properties for many years. Merino wool comes only from selected farms that meet the strict ORTOVOX WOOL PROMISE (OWP) standards.

These farms are regularly monitored as part of the OWP. The wool itself is 100% ecological and therefore extremely environmentally sustainable. Merino wool provides perfect comfort and a feeling of softness thanks to the thin fibers that make up fine woolen yarns. In addition, this wool perfectly regulates temperature and wicks away sweat, so you will feel comfortable in any conditions. In addition, thanks to its antibacterial effects, Merino wool neutralizes odors and is very easy to care for.

ORTOVOX products are made of the highest quality, which is why solving any complaints is really easy. If you discover a manufacturing defect, be it a fraying seam, external fraying or a non-functioning zipper, just send the product to us and we will take care of its repair, replacement or refund.
