LIGHT, COOL AND STRAIGHT FROM THE FUTURE
We have been creating light and airy shorts since 2011, but we have always encountered the limits of the compromise between durability and light weight. That's why we had to go back and find another, better way. We researched what our pants really have to be able to do: absolutely keep the cycling liner in position, despite the higher weight, they must not be transparent and they must withstand at least one season of really hard riding. So we designed a completely new fabric, instead of a knit, that can save 30% of the weight, while maintaining the same support for the muscles and transparency.
Subsequently, we collaborated with the world's leading manufacturer to create a structure and material that is gradually softer and lighter towards the knees. We managed to create a fabric that weighs only 90 g/m2 in the last part compared to 220 g/m2 for standard materials. While this fabric is extremely lightweight, it maintains excellent abrasion resistance in the crotch area. We can't guarantee they'll hold up to rubbing on an asphalt road, but they'll hold up a lot.
Keep in mind that these pants save you around 50g in weight when dry, but absorb 30% less moisture when you start sweating. So if you take Alpe d'Huez, you carry 150 grams less on the way out than usual.
These pants also do not compromise on comfort. We've used our premium Progetto X² AIR liner with a seamless construction, as well as our unique striped mesh straps, the same as the Free Aero Race, as well as flat finishing hems to keep everything in place. But also the surface finish is what sets them apart. The logos are laser burned into the surface of the fabric for a very discreet and luxurious tone-on-tone effect. You don't need to have brightly colored logos on these pants to shout that you've achieved maximum comfort and performance in cycling.
