Fenix E28R rechargeable flashlight

The Fenix E28R pocket rechargeable flashlight offers a luminous flux of up to 1500 lumens (ANSI) and an afterglow of up to 200 meters. It achieves high performance and afterglow thanks to the installation of the most modern LED Luminus SST40. The package also includes a rechargeable 18650 Li-ion battery with a capacity of 3400 mAh, which is charged directly in the lamp via a modern USB-C connector. Alternatively, the lamp can be powered by two disposable CR123A batteries. Fenix E28R has six different lighting modes that allow you to choose between high performance and long endurance (up to 73 hours). There are also stroboscopic flashes for crisis situations. The lamp is powered by a digitally regulated constant current to guarantee a constant light output even when the voltage in the batteries is reduced (while they are gradually discharged). There is also an indication of the state of charge of the batteries. This model is suitable for everyone who is looking for the best ratio of size, price and performance.

All lamp parameters (luminous flux, battery operation time, waterproofing, afterglow and impact resistance) are measured in accordance with the ANSI/NEMA FL 1-2009 standard.

The use

From the factory, there may be a black insulating cap inside the battery. Remove it from the battery before first use. To turn on or off, hold down the side button for about 0.5 seconds. You can switch power modes at any time during operation by pressing the side button. The strobe can be activated by holding the button for 1.2 seconds. A short press turns off the strobe. The control button can be locked so that it does not turn on by itself, e.g. when transporting in luggage - press the control button twice quickly (within 0.5 seconds). To unlock, quickly press the button twice again.

Protection against overheating: after 1 minute of operation at the highest mode of 1500 lumens, the lamp will gradually reduce its output to 900 lumens over 30 seconds. If the lamp exceeds the temperature of 60°C, it will start reducing the output by 5% every 10 seconds until the temperature stabilizes at a safe level or until the output is reduced to 350 lumens. After the temperature drops to a safe level, the lamp automatically starts to increase its power.

Charging: unfold the rubber cover of the charging connector on the side of the lamp and plug the enclosed cable into the lamp (USB-C connector), plug the other end of the cable into the computer or the USB adapter into the electrical network or the car (not included in the package). The side button lights up red while charging and turns green when fully charged. After charging, carefully seal the charging connector again with a rubber cap. Charging a fully discharged battery takes about 3 hours using a 2A source. In an emergency, the light can also be used while charging, but only the 30 lumen mode will be available and the charging time will be longer.

Battery charge status indication: After a short press of the button (the lamp must be switched off), the LED indicator in the button is activated. If the indicator light is green, the battery is charged to more than 85%. Green flashing means 50-85% capacity. If it lights up red, it is charged to 25-50%. Blinking red means there is less than 25% battery capacity left.

Warning about the discharged battery - the side button starts flashing red and the light gradually automatically switches to the lowest mode.

Warning

• Do not disassemble the sealed parts in the lamp head yourself, this will void the warranty.
• When using disposable CR123A batteries, do not try to charge them in the lamp.
• If the protective rubber rings appear damaged after a long period of use, replace them. The rings must also be lubricated to prevent rubber erosion. By following these rules, the lamp will be properly protected against water.
• If the lamp flashes, does not switch to higher modes, or does not light up, it may be for one of the following reasons:
  
  • The batteries are almost empty - replace them or charge the accumulator.
  • The contacts inside the lights are dirty - clean them with a cloth soaked in alcohol.
  • The end is loose - add lubricant to the sealing rings and tighten.
