FOX Float X Factory Trunnion shock with lever
FOX has introduced two brand new shocks for the 2022/23 season - one of them is the new FOX X Air Air Shock, which provides excellent adjustability at a low weight to meet the demands of aggressive trail riders, combining sophisticated damping and performance without compromising on lightweight performance. with excellent structural integrity.
The new FOX X Air shock does not actually replace the DPX2. Instead of thinking of it that way, think of it as a scaled down and lightweight version of the Float X2 with a feature set aimed squarely at the trail category. (Its intended use is not enduro.)
The FOX X Air 2022 shock features a large piston and large air volume for a wider range of tuneability on different frames. This larger piston size means less air pressure is required to achieve the same spring force - reducing the average pressure by 40PSI over the DPX2. It is far more adjustable than the DPX2, with the volume of the air chamber adjustable in 0.1 increments. A 0.1 volume spacer can be added to the -0.2, -0.4, -0.6, -0.8, -1.0 settings to fine tune the air spring volume so riders can find what is best for their frame.
In addition to the ability to adjust the volume of the chamber, it also has numerous external damping adjustment options that will make a wide range of riders happy. It has a numbered LSC (Low Speed Compression) adjustment screw and gains more rebound adjustment clicks (11) compared to the DPX2. There is also an independent fixed mode (lockout) circuit, controlled by a 2-position stick.
