Made with Digital Light Synthesis technology in collaboration with Carbon from San Francisco, this saddle has everything you need in the right place, and everything works to ensure that every centimeter of the saddle provides just the right amount of comfort while also transferring power when pedaling.
The saddle pad is made of one piece and offers different levels of comfort or pedaling support. 3D printing is here.
The development of 3D printing allowed us to develop a new saddle without the limitations that appear in the design and production of classic saddles with a traditional production process. The Adaptive saddle pad was developed by the Carbon company from San Francisco using the revolutionary Digital Light Synthesis technology.
Thanks to 3D printing, biomechanists and engineers have an unprecedented opportunity: to design and manufacture multiple functional zones of the saddle and tune each of them separately for specific mechanical properties. Professional cyclists and amateur riders tested the new Adaptive saddle in the Fizik labs and out on the road. During each development phase, each development version was carefully tested.
A lot of emphasis was placed on understanding how different wheel geometries, positions and riding styles change the pressure distribution on the saddle.
Thanks to the unique combination of manufacturing processes and materials used, Fizik developed this product five times faster than usual and was able to test hundreds of versions in the laboratory or in the field. And given that this technology is also applicable for mass production, it can completely change and speed up the traditional production process.
The saddle is very easy to maintain. Even after the dirtiest rainy road trip, just rinse the saddle with water. Whatever gets in, gets out.
Fizik performed the most demanding tests, simulating various weather conditions, UV radiation and wear resistance according to strict protocols.
ADAPTIVE: 3D Carbon® Digital Light SynthesisTM printing technology that offers different levels of damping in different zones of the saddle
