You have to remember that these are the cheapest pedals and then you will be satisfied, they are plastic, so they don't like to be cut, even though they are (by sight and "touch") quite robust plastic. For someone who doesn't ride difficult terrain, but just goes to the store comfortably, they will definitely be enough.
