The ultra-powerful rechargeable light Fenix LR50R brings an extreme luminous flux of up to 12,000 lumens (ANSI) and an afterglow of up to 950 meters. It achieves its performance with the help of four powerful Luminus SST-70 LEDs with a lifetime of 50,000 hours of light, which are powered by an internal high-current Li-ion battery with a capacity of 57.6 Wh. The battery is charged directly in the lamp via a modern USB-C connector. The lamp offers control using two buttons, which are used to separately control the constant light modes and the flash modes.

The lamp is equipped with LED indicators that show the battery charge status. In addition, the lamp can also be used as a power bank in an emergency and charge other USB-C devices from it. The body of the lamp is also equipped with a tripod thread, so it can be attached to a tripod and used as stationary lighting. Despite the enormous power, the lamp retains surprisingly compact dimensions, the length is only 16.3 centimeters and the weight is 980 grams including the battery. This searchlight is particularly suitable for rescue and reconnaissance operations. But it is also excellent for guarding large objects or for all lighting enthusiasts.

All lamp parameters (luminous flux, battery operation time, waterproofing, afterglow and impact resistance) are measured in accordance with the ANSI/NEMA FL 1-2009 standard.

Fenix LR50R lamp parameters:

  • The light source is four top-of-the-line Luminus SST-70 LEDs with a lifetime of 50,000 hours of light.
  • A total of 8 lighting modes:

    • Constant modes: 12000 lumens (1.80 hours) -> 6000 lumens (2.30 hours) -> 3000 lumens (2.60 hours) -> 1000 lumens (7.60 hours) -> 350 lumens (24 hours) - > 50 lumens ( 58 hours ).
    • Flash modes: Strobe (6000 lumens) -> SOS (350 lumens).
  • It uses a high-current Li-ion battery ARB-L52-16000 with a capacity of 16000 mAh / 3.6 V (57.6 Wh) for power. In an emergency, it can be replaced with 1-4 separate 21700 Li-ion batteries, but the highest modes will not be available with them.
  • Charging via USB-C with support for fast charging protocols PD3.0 / PD2.0, QC3.0 / QC2.0. Charging time 4.5-16 hours depending on the power of the source used.
  • Digitally regulated for constant brightness and with protection against overheating.
  • The proximity sensor in the reflector automatically reduces the output to 50 lumens when the lamp approaches an object to less than about 6-8 centimeters (prevents damage to the object by strong light and glare by reflected light).
  • The aluminum reflector offers an afterglow of up to 950 meters (225,750 cd).
  • The electronics is equipped with a protective function against too deep battery discharge, when the voltage drops below a certain limit, it automatically switches to a lower power mode.
  • The lamp has a memory and can be turned on in the last set mode (does not apply to flash modes).
  • Battery charge status indication (functional only when using the original Fenix ARB-L52-16000 battery).
  • Dimensions 16.3 cm (length) x 6 cm (body diameter) x 8.8 cm (reflector diameter).
  • Weight 980 grams (including battery).
  • Made of aviation hardened aluminum, the reflector is complemented by a shock rim.
  • Durable hard-to-scratch surface - Type III hard anodized.
  • Impact-resistant from a fall from a height of 1 meter.
  • Waterproof and dustproof according to the IP68 standard (tested under water at a depth of 2 meters for 30 minutes).
  • Hardened ultra clear glass lens with anti-reflective coating.
  • Trapezoidal threads with increased wear resistance.
  • Able to stand on its own on a flat place and serve as a candle.
  • The body is equipped with a thread for screwing on a tripod.
  • Prominent indentation over the entire surface of the lamp for better holding.
  • The package includes an ARB-L52-16000 battery, a USB-C charging cable, a belt pouch, a loop and spare o-rings.
  • The lamp can also be purchased with a QC3.0 USB adapter for the mains and a USB car adapter and a colored USB-C cable.

The use

There may be an insulating cap on the battery from the factory. Remove it before first use.

By holding down the right button for 0.5 seconds, the lamp will turn on to the last set permanent lighting mode. Further presses switch between power modes, holding down the button turns the lamp off again. By holding down the left button, the light turns on to the highest mode of 12000 lumens, further presses of the left button activate the stroboscope and then SOS. You can get back to the last constant light mode by pressing the right button.

The control buttons can be locked to prevent spontaneous activation, e.g. when transported in luggage - in the off state, press both buttons and hold them for at least 3 seconds, then the light will flash, indicating locking. To unlock, it is necessary to hold both buttons again for three seconds. Unwanted switching on can also be prevented by enabling the lamp body.

Charging - unfold the rubber cover of the charging connector and plug the cable into the USB-C connector in the lamp. The indicator LEDs will flash from left to right to show the charging status. Only 50 lumens mode can be turned on while charging. After charging is complete, seal the connector thoroughly with a rubber cap. Not only ordinary USB adapters and power banks can be used for charging, but also adapters for fast charging with the PD3.0 / PD2.0, QC3.0 / QC2 protocol, which will be automatically detected.

Charging external USB-C devices (power bank function) - unfold the rubber cover of the USB-C connector and connect the device you want to charge with a suitable USB cable (only USB-C devices can be charged with the included cable). To activate the power bank function, you must briefly press one of the control buttons. After charging starts, the indicator LEDs start flashing from right to left to show the battery status. The maximum discharge current is 2A. After charging, do not forget to properly seal the USB-C connector with a rubber cap.

Battery charge status indication - after a short press of any button, the indicator LEDs light up for 8 seconds and show the battery charge status (the lamp must be turned off). Four lit LEDs mean the battery is 80-100% charged, three lit 60-80%, two 40-60%, one 20-40% and one blinking means the battery is less than 20% charged. The indication is only functional with the original battery.

Intelligent protection against overheating - after the temperature exceeds 60°C, the lamp will automatically gradually reduce the output in small steps up to the level of 3000 lumens, after cooling down the output will automatically increase again. Operation at the highest Turbo mode (12,000 lumens) is time-limited to 20 seconds, after which the lamp will reduce power to 8,000 lumens for 60 seconds. If the second highest level (6000 lumens) is selected for longer than 60 seconds, the output is then reduced to 4000 lumens for the next 60 seconds.

The proximity sensor in the reflector automatically reduces the output to 50 lumens when the lamp approaches an object to less than approx. 6-8 centimeters (prevents damage to the object by strong light and glare by reflected light).

Warning

  • Do not disassemble the sealed parts of the lamp yourself, this will void the warranty.
  • If the protective rubber rings appear damaged after a long period of use, replace them. The rings must also be lubricated to prevent rubber erosion. By following these rules, the lamp will be properly protected against water.
  • If the light flickers, does not switch to higher power modes, or does not light up, it may be for one of the following reasons:

    • The battery is dead, charge it.
    • The contacts inside the lamp are dirty - clean them with a cotton swab dipped in alcohol.
    • The body is loose, tighten it.
