VDO R5 GPS Full Sensor

Extra large display, simple operation and 30 functions: the GPS computer of the R series reliably displays all relevant driving data that performance and racing drivers require. In addition to displaying speed, distance traveled and driving or training time, this smart computer also provides navigation functions and can be paired with compatible electric bicycles. The real highlight is the integrated barometric altitude measurement. Thanks to its 2.4-inch diagonal and extremely large numbers, the high-contrast display is very easy to read even while driving. The highlighted blue square in the upper right part of the display enables a new way of displaying training data. In combination with the SIGMA RIDE application for smartphones, up to six individual training views can be set with a few clicks. The VDO R5 GPS is mounted on the handlebars using a pre-set bracket (included in the package), so the computer is centrally located above the stem. The holder fits handlebars with a diameter of 31.8 to 35 mm. If you would like to find out even more data or you care about the maximum accuracy of your values, thanks to the ANT+ and BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) connectivity, you can also connect external sensors to the computer to measure speed, heart rate or pedaling cadence.

Altitude measurement: The built-in air pressure sensor provides reliable altitude information using barometric measurement, determines the ascent and descent, allowing accurate route recording. VDO R5 also allows a graphical representation of the height profile of your route. The default altitude at the start of the ride is either automatically calibrated by GPS or can be set manually.

Easy navigation: The VDO R5 GPS computer can be easily paired with the SIGMA RIDE smartphone app. With this application, it is possible to import routes from other sources or to go to a specific destination using the "Search and Go" function and its detailed turn-by-turn instructions. These are displayed on the computer screen as arrows, while the phone is safely hidden in a pocket or backpack.

Ready for e-bikes: R5 GPS can also work with many models of e-bikes. The computer connects to the compatible e-bike system and shows the current level of motor support, battery status and other important data on the display.

Smart alerts: Thanks to this feature, you can stay in touch with the world around you even while riding your bike. Information about incoming calls and text messages from your smartphone will be displayed on the computer screen.

Convenient data analysis using the SIGMA RIDE application: The SIGMA RIDE application is a free tool for transferring training data from a GPS computer to a smartphone via the BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) interface. The application clearly presents basic data and statistics using colored segments that are immediately readable and easily analysed. You can instantly share data from your ride in training apps like Strava, TrainingPeaks or komoot.
